PA 1 - Probate application form

When a person dies leaving behind an estate, which can include a house or a flat, as well as money, shares and personal possessions, it is usually necessary to apply to the Probate Registry to obtain a 'Grant of Representation' (probate) before you can deal with the assets of the deceased's estate. This means that you cannot sell the deceased's house, sell any shares, or obtain money from bank accounts until probate has been granted. You can use this document, PA 1 - Probate application form, to make your application. Please note that you can only use this document in England & Wales.
