    Use this document to create a letter to send to the Legal Ombudsman complaining about the poor service, negligence and/or misconduct of a legal service provider such as a solicitor, barrister, licensed conveyancer or legal executive. Before sending this letter, you should have sent the legal service provider concerned an initial letter of complaint and either not have received a response after 8 weeks or be unhappy with the response received. Please note that this document can only be used in England & Wales.

  • Request for a solicitor to itemise charges

    If a solicitor's fees are higher than what you expected, you can use this letter to request that your solicitor provide an itemised account of each of his/her charges. By having your solicitor justify each item of work, you should be able to reduce the amount of the final bill.
