Banking Charges Letter - Step 1
This letter is the first in a series of Rapidocs documents designed to help you to reclaim unfair bank charges to which you have been subjected. It will help you first to establish how many charges have been applied to your account(s) within the last few years by requesting this information from your bank under the Data Protection Act 1998. The maximum statutory charge for providing you with this information is £10. For this reason, you need to enclose a cheque for £10 with your letter to ensure it is effective.
If you live in England or Wales, you can reclaim any unfair bank charges occurring in the last six years. In Scotland, you can reclaim charges occurring in the last five years. (v. 12661.1.0)
